Electronic assemblies used in military applications must function reliably and continuously. From sensors in drones to complex control systems in satellites and communications equipment, professional ESD protection is essential wherever exposed electronic components are manufactured, tested, and assembled.

In Germany, the BAAINBw (Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology, and Use of the Bundeswehr) oversees compliance with specific defense equipment standards (VG standards), which also include requirements for robust electronic components and their ESD behavior.

The European Space Agency (ESA) has very strict ESD guidelines.
It uses a harmonized European system: the ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) system. [1, 2]
